This collaborative documentary by three filmmakers explores the ways in which film technology has historically and continues to privilege those with white skin, from lighting to photochemical elements. Prism is the combined effort of An van. Dienderenn from Belgium, Rosine Mbakam, from Cameroon, and Eléonore Yameogo from Burkina Faso. Broken up into three sections, the film pushes back against the traditions of western filmmaking in an attempt to self-consciously overcome these biases and create powerful counter-images and methods of working.
